For any who have read along you are aware we call Pahrump Nevada our “home base”. We have an acre of land with a well, septic, and pad that we will develop further, though with our bent on exploring and travel we typically only visit during March/April and September/October.
One of the things that attracted us to the area was its proximity to many outdoor destinations and historic sites. During our last visit we took a couple of day trips, one to “Ash Meadows” wildlife area about 20 miles east of our place. We spent a few hours exploring the trails and springs. Here are a few images showing some highlights:

The natural springs were amazing to see with their turquoise colors and cute fish. The B&W shot of the mountains emphasises the contrasting colors in the strata, at first glance we thought we were looking at snow and ski-runs.
The next trip was to “Dublin Gultch” which was an area used for shelter by miners in the 1920’s. They used the clay-cliffs to carve our small one room shelters. Here a couple images from our trip:

As i type we are breaking “camp” and going to explore beyond the neighborhood for a few months. Our first stop is Flagstaff to visit Overland Expo. I will dedicate a post to that event. After that it is onto Sedona… after that? Nothing in ink on the map as yet though the plan is to explore the higher/cooler elevations of AZ, NM, CO, and parts of Utah.
